Who We Are

Third Parent Family (TPF) launched in late 2019 with 4 volunteers, offering individualized case management services. When the pandemic hit, Trader Joe’s on 4th was looking to partner with a black-owned organization. We jumped on the opportunity to connect this incredible resource with those in need. Starting with no experience and very little direction, Third Parent Family is now a respected food pantry in our community.

Poverty denies too many people the opportunity to be all they are meant to be. Helpful resources exist, but it is difficult to find and access available services. That’s where Third Parent Family and Youth Services (TPF) comes in. We are a grassroots non-profit connecting resources to need.

Still, there is so much more to do. We are looking for partners like you to help us meet our short-term and long-term goals.

Short-term goals:

  • expand the food pantry operations

  • add a food storage facility

  • add staff to manage activities and partnerships

  • create and strengthen relationships

Long-term goals:

  • create a community career development project for youth and families, offering case management, mentorship, and more.

Third Parent has achieved so much in such a short time and has become a sought-after organization, meeting the needs of our Bay Area community. Enjoy the rewards of helping to accelerate TPF’s vital mission. Bring your leadership to your community by:

  • sharing your expertise as a member of the Board of Directors

  • your generosity and making connections to potential supporters

  • taking part in activities, surround yourself with our wonderful clients and volunteers

The resources are out there, but they’re not always connecting with the community that may need them most. We meet the people where they are”
